Terms of Service

What this service is, what it is not, and the obligations on both sides before a clinician evaluates you.

Night over the California coastal horizon

Last updated 29 July 2026

What this service is

We connect California residents with mental health professionals licensed in California, and we handle scheduling, billing and support. We are not a law firm, we are not a medical practice, and we do not ourselves provide clinical care. Care is provided by the independently licensed clinician you are matched with, under their own license and professional judgement.

No guaranteed outcome

Nothing on this site is a promise that you will receive a letter. Whether documentation is clinically appropriate is a decision for your clinician alone, made after the evaluation required by Health & Safety Code §122318. Any service that guarantees a letter in advance is not evaluating anyone.

Not legal or medical advice

The legal material on this site is general information about California and federal law, current as of the date shown, and is not legal advice. Agency guidance in this area changed twice in 2026. For advice about your own situation, consult a California attorney or the Civil Rights Department.

Your responsibilities

You agree to give accurate information during intake and evaluation, to attend scheduled appointments, and not to misrepresent an emotional support animal as a service dog. Under California Penal Code §365.7 that misrepresentation is a misdemeanor, and it is your own exposure, not ours.

Fees, cancellation and refunds

Prices are as published on the pricing page. The intake call is free. You are not charged for a letter that is not issued; you are charged for clinical sessions attended. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be billed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
