Public access comes from training, not from paperwork
A PSD letter documents the psychiatric disability behind a service dog. Under the ADA it is the dog's individual task training that creates the right to enter shops, restaurants and other public places — no document, from us or anyone else, can grant that on its own. We include task-training guidance and a trainer referral for exactly this reason. Presenting an untrained animal as a service dog is a misdemeanor under California Penal Code §365.7.

Why does this cost more than a $45 online letter?
Because a $45 letter is a PDF and this is a course of care. The price covers a licensed California clinician's time across a 30-day relationship, a real clinical evaluation, and their willingness to answer your housing provider afterwards. The cheap version fails §122318 on at least two counts, which is why we spend so much time reviewing letters that have already been rejected.
Why does covering more animals cost more?
Because each animal has to be assessed on its own terms. The clinician has to be able to explain what this particular animal does for this particular condition, and that reasoning has to hold up separately for a second and a third. More animals means more evaluation time, and it also means a letter that draws more scrutiny from a housing provider — so it has to be written more carefully.
What is the difference between the ESA and PSD letters?
An ESA letter documents a disability-related need for an animal whose help comes from its presence. It supports a housing accommodation request. PSD documentation is for a dog that has been individually trained to perform specific tasks tied to a psychiatric disability — and it is the training, not the letter, that creates public-access rights under the ADA. If you are unsure which you need, the intake call will tell you. Compare the categories.
What happens to my money if I am not approved?
You are not charged for a letter that is not issued. The intake call is free, and if the clinician concludes that documentation is not clinically supported, you pay for the sessions you attended and nothing else. We publish this because a refund policy tells you more about a service than its price does.
Can I use insurance, an HSA or an FSA?
The clinical sessions are ordinary outpatient mental health appointments and are frequently HSA or FSA eligible; we provide an itemized superbill you can submit. Whether your plan reimburses out-of-network care is between you and your insurer. Administrative fees for document preparation are generally not reimbursable.
Are there any fees you have not listed?
No. The figures above are complete. There is no rush fee, because the 30-day minimum makes rushing unlawful; no delivery fee; no separate charge for the landlord correspondence; and no subscription that renews unless you ask for renewal.
